not a state of being."

FAQ'S

  • There Are Five Counselors At Simply Well. Are You A Group Practice?

No. All five counselors at Simply Well operate independent practices in the building. When you see one of our counselors, that person will not share specific information about you with any of the others. Our counselors do consult with each other about their work from time to time in order to deliver the best quality of care. However, they do not share identifying information (such as your name) in the course of these consultations. You must sign a release of information if you want your counselor to be able to use your name or other identifying information when seeking consultation. In addition, our counselors do not share information about your care with other kinds of practitioners in the building. If you want to take a yoga class, or see a massage therapist or chiropracter, those practitioners won’t know that you’ve seen a counselor unless you choose to tell them.

  • Do You Take Insurance?

Yes. Our counselors are in-network with most commercial insurance plans. However, because each operates an independent practice, not all participate with the same insurance plans. Please ask your counselor about your specific plan.

  • How Much Does Counseling Cost?

If you are using insurance, your costs are determined by your insurance plan. It is a good idea to call your insurance to ask about your benefits and whether a certain provider is considered “in-network” for you. Your counselor may agree to call your insurance company to verify your benefits as well. Self-pay rates are determined by each individual counselor – please call for current rates

  • When Are You Open?

Each of our counselors keeps a different schedule. While the building is open every day of the week, your counselor may or may not be in the building at any particular day/time. All counselors operate by appointment only. It is important to choose a counselor who offers appointments during the hours that you are typically available, so that you can follow up as often as you need to.

  • How Long And How Often Are Your Appointments?

It is typical for appointments to last between 45 and 60 minutes. However, the length of an appointment depends on your specific needs. Some people need longer or shorter appointments depending on the problem. Many people come to counseling on a weekly basis, and others find that meeting less frequently is enough to address their needs.

  • Do You See Couples And Families?

This differs by practitioner. Dr. Valerie Domenici and Karen Capone MS, LCC, LPC provide individual therapy for adults only. Dr. Judy Prescott offers counseling for couples and families, as well as for children as young as 12.

  • What If I Want Medication? Can I Get That At Simply Well?

No. None of our providers can prescribe medication. However, they can provide referrals to medical providers who can.

  • How Do I Schedule An Appointment?

Call your specific counselor directly. Each counselor has her own phone number and schedules her own appointments.

  • I Need To See Someone Right Now. It’s An Emergency.

If you have not yet met with a counselor, it is unlikely that we can help you immediately. We do not offer walk-in crisis services. It is common to have to wait a few days or weeks for an appointment. Please call Crisis Services at 717-243-6005 or visit your nearest ER if you think you may hurt yourself or someone else and cannot wait for an appointment. If you have already met with one of our counselors, call that person directly and leave a message stating that your concern is urgent and your call will be returned as quickly as possible. Please call Crisis Services or go to your nearest ER if you cannot wait for a return call.
