Life Changes

Carl Rogers observed “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Although I am not sure if he meant to describe the idea of being mindful, he summed it up well!In order to change we need to stop and experience what we are feeling, thinking and sensing in our bodies in the present moment. We can then decide how to respond to the feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations and choose the actions that are most in accordance with that which we value. This process is not an easy one.The necessary steps for change are to learn how to stop and observe what we are thinking, feeling and sensing in our bodies, get in touch with our values and choose actions that reflect those values. This means we have to create ‘psychological flexibility’ so that we can change.

The assistance of knowledgeable professionals to guide and support the process of change is most helpful! Here at Simply Well we have numerous resources for you to consider. The Psychologists are here to help you sort out your thoughts and feelings, while our chiropractor, massage therapists and yoga instructions can guide your body (and mind).
